Susan Scholl, Welcome Wagon president, presents a check for $5,845 to Habitat for Humanity's Jean Ann French.

Susan Scholl, president of the Welcome Wagon Club of the Eastside, recently presented a $5,845 check to Jean Ann French, resource development manager, for Habitat for Humanity of East King County. The donation was made possible by the annual charity auction the club holds in November.

Habitat for Humanity, which is building homes off of Avondale Road for qualified families, was chosen as this year's recipient. Welcome Wagon, a social, non-profit organization, hosts activities for newer area residents of all ages and makes charitable gifts throughout the year. They are currently selling a cookbook.

All newcomers and neighbors are invited to the next Welcome Wagon coffee at the Sammamish Valley Grange. For information about the next meeting or the cookbook, call Doreen at (425) 483-3200.
