This Jersey heifer calf won't be giving any milk for about two years, but she will look plenty good in the show ring for the 4-H member who bought her at at last Saturday's 4-H/FFA sale at Carnation Farm. The calf was led into the auction ring by five-year-old Kristen Nelson, whose mother, Marie, grew up on a dairy farm in the Snoqualmie Valley. Kristen's father, Eric, an agricultural coordinator for King County, described the animals' pedigrees at the sale. Carnation resident George Magnochi was auctioneer.
