Members needed for Kenmore planning commission

by John Phelps

At its March 15 study session, the Kenmore City Council discussed implementing the city's comprehensive plan. An ordinance will be presented to the Council at their regular meeting on March 22.

To actively involve Kenmore residents, a planning commission will be established to advise the Council on policy matters in the creation of the comprehensive plan. The commission will be an advisory group with nine members who will provide guidance and recommendations to the City Council on the adoption of the city's comprehensive plan and related land use documents.

Commission members will serve until the adoption of the plan by the City Council and will receive no compensation. Any Kenmore resident interested in being appointed to the planning commission should contact Kenmore City Hall at 425-398-8900.

The Council also discussed priorities for consideration on the police contract for the year 2000.
