Free literacy workshop

   Parents and children will learn how to make reading and writing fun at a free workshop at the Woodinville Library on Thursday, Apr. 1, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This workshop is for parents and children grades 1-3. Families will learn how to identify 7 different kinds of intelligences. They will learn how to apply this knowledge to reading and writing activities. Families will get a chance to practice learning games and will get lots of ideas for games they can do at home. They will take home a packet containing game instructions, book lists, and hints on how to help their children be successful in school. To register, call Eastside Literacy at (425) 844-2459.

BHS senior is a finalist in scholarship program

   Allysa M. Lamb, daughter of Joan Lamb of Bothell, and a senior at Bothell High, has been recognized as a finalist in the 1999 National Achievement Scholarship Program. This program is a privately-financed nationwide competition. Lamb is one of the approximately 1,200 finalists named across the country.
