Duvall police made wise decision

I think the Duvall Police Department is entitled to a rousing round of applause and a hearty thank you from the citizens of Duvall.

When the recent storms shut down the 520 bridge and the 124th Street Bridge, the police realized that a monumental traffic jam would ensue if they permitted the traffic light at Main and Virginia to operate on its programmed cycle during rush hour. They wisely shut off the traffic light and stationed officers at this intersection and at the intersection of West Snoqualmie Road and Woodinville-Duvall road, to direct traffic.

In my judgement, the traffic flowed smoothly with very few delays. I did not envy those officers standing out in the rain. My hat's off to them.
