Benefit concert for Melissa Baldwinn
A benefit concert has been scheduled to raise funds for the Melissa Baldwinn Foundation. Melissa is a student at Snoqualmie Middle School who survived the murder of her mother and sisters. Concert proceeds will go towards Melissa's post-high school education or personal medical needs. The concert is scheduled for April 3, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Mt. Si High School Auditorium, 8651 Meadowbrook Way SE, Snoqualmie. Pre-concert dessert buffet donated by Salish Lodge and Spa will begin at 6:30 p.m. The concert will feature classical artist Barry Lieberman, violinist Maria Larionoff, Jody Schwarz, Cynthia Staruck, Natan Medina, and Sarah Carter. Admission is $10 for students and seniors and $15 for non-senior adults. Tickets can be purchased at Snoqualmie Middle School (888-1102), Chief Kanim Middle School (831-8225), or Mt. Si High School (831-8100).
The Herbfarm Restaurant to take summer reservations
Thursday, April 1 is the day The Herbfarm Restaurant will begin accepting reservations for its summer seatings at a temporary location in Hedges Cellars' barrel-aging room in Issaquah. Dinners, which are served most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will begin in June. Reservations for the nine-course dinners have gone quickly in the past. Beryl Adair Trezise 90th birthday celebration
The 90th birthday party for Beryl Adair Trezise, a descendant of Snoqualmie Valley pioneers, will be held on Saturday, April 10 from 2-5 p.m. at Judson Baptist Church, 12700 35th Ave. NE, east of Lake City Way in Seattle. Friends are invited and may phone 206-362-7810 for directions.
Snoqualmie Valley Women's Connection
The Snoqualmie Valley Women's Connection will hold its next meeting on April 3, 8:30-11 a.m. at the Cherry Gardens Community Club. The meeting starts with a potluck breakfast. Live models at Sassy Sisters
Sassy local gals will be modeling a divine selection of clothing in the windows of Sassy Sisters Consignment & Coffee on Saturday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The store is located next to Seafirst Bank in Duvall.
Plant donations wanted for plant sale
The Duvall Civic Club is looking for plant donations for their May 8 plant sale. They would gratefully accept perennials, tubers, bulbs, small shrubs, vegetables, herbs, and flower starts and other plants. They have free pots and will even dig plants up. Easter Egg hunt in Duvall
A free Easter Egg hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3, 1 p.m. at Cherry Valley Elementary School in Duvall. Open to all youth, infants to grade six. Bring your own baskets. Sponsored by Northshore YMCA, Lower Valley Youth programs and Duvall Chamber of Commerce. Peter Cottontail will make an appearance for photo ops. For information, call 485-9797. Easter Egg hunt in Carnation
The American Legion annual Easter Egg hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the Memorial Park in Carnation. All children from infants to age nine are invited to attend. Sponsored by the Carnation Chamber of Commerce. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be $2.
Valley Recreation Board meeting
A Valley Recreation Association Board of Directors meeting is set for Monday, April 5, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Carnation Public Library meeting room (enter on north side of building). Public welcome. Discussion will include next steps toward building a pool and recreation center.
Family math workshop

Braithburn private kindergarten openings
Braithburn Academy in Duvall is now accepting applications for its 1999-2000 kindergarten class. Forms are available at the Academy or can be requested by phone. Full-day and half-day options are available. Braithburn Academy provides a strong academic program taught by a certified elementary teacher combined with extracurricular activities including foreign language, swimming, gymnastics, and skiing. Carnation's July 4 needs volunteers
The Carnation Fourth of July "Run for the Pies" Committee is looking for volunteers to help organize the races. The Committee needs a couple of people with experience with 10-key who can help log in the race participants, volunteers to man the registration booths, an official runner, and someone with a computer to help log the entries, prepare mailing labels, and communicate with the media.
