April events at Molbak's

   Each month, Molbak's Woodinville store offers a variety of seminars, events, and demonstrations on gardening and home topics. All are held at the store and are free unless otherwise noted.

   King County Master Recyclers/Composters will answer compost questions Saturday, April 10 and Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to noon.

   Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs will provide information on how to join a local garden club Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

   Stephanie Feeney will sign her newest edition, Northwest Gardener's Resource Directory, Sunday, April 25 from noon to 2 p.m.

   The first topic for Kitchen Garden Series II will be Warm Season Vegetables to be held April 9 at 6 p.m. Learn what varieties of tomatoes, melons, artichokes, and peppers grow best here. Then, Carl Elliot will focus on how to prepare soil, organic pest control, frost protection, and fertilizers when he presents Vegetable Gardening Ideas Friday, April 9 at 7 :30 p.m.

   Molbak's senior floral designer, Raul Ramirez, AIFD, will address Entertaining with Fresh Flowers Saturday, April 10 at 9 a.m.

   Shade-Loving Perennials will be the topic April 16 at 7 p.m. when perennial expert Carrie Becker shows how to light up the shade garden with perennials. Learn other ideas for the shaded garden Saturday, April 17 at 9 a.m.

   Peggy Campbell will demonstrate planting techniques and design tips for Colorful Shade Containers Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m. Then, learn which plants thrive in sunny containers Saturday, April 24 at 9 a.m.
