Mom & me at the zoo

   The annual Mother's Day celebration, "Mom & Me at the Zoo," will be held Saturday, May 8, at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is already underway and continues through Friday, May 7. Cost is $6.50 plus tax per person and includes zoo admission, an event T-shirt (your ticket into the event), live entertainment, and a complimentary scone from Fisher Fair Scones. SEPAC hosts meeting

   Learn about "Planning and Writing Effective IEPs," April 15 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the W.A. Anderson Building cafeteria, 18603 Bothell Way NE in Bothell. It is hosted by the Special Education Parents' Advisory Council (SEPAC). There is no child care available for this presentation. For details, call (425) 488-2208, evenings.

Northshore Kiwanis meeting

   The public is invited to have breakfast and hear Sonny Smallwood, UW assistant women's basketball coach, speak at the Northshore Kiwanis meeting April 14 from 7 to 8 a.m. at Alexa's Restaurant on Main St. in Bothell. Call 486-4966.

Blood drives

   The Mount Olympus Room at Advanced Technology Labs, 22100 Bothell Highway SE, will be the site of a blood drive Friday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Another blood drive is planned for Monday, April 19 from 1 to 7 p.m. with a break from 3:15 to 4 p.m. at Ricketts Auditorium, 18315 Bothell Way NE. Swing dance classes

   Swing dance classes will begin April 20 for ages 14-adult and run for six weeks from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Northshore Senior Center, 10201 E. Riverside Dr., Bothell. Cost is $36. Pre-register by calling Bothell Parks at 486-7430.

Rotary Club meeting

   The Woodinville Rotary Club will meet Tuesday, April 20, at 7 a.m. at Columbia Winery, 14040 NE 145th, Woodinville.
