Duvall will celebrate country living

Duvall Days Country Livin' Festival will be held this year on May 15 and 16. The festival starts at 9 a.m. May 15 with the 5K Fun Run. The Kids Parade begins at 11 a.m. with the Grand Parade immediately following. Grand Marshal will be lifelong Duvall resident Ruth Coy Bellamy.

Over 75 booths will take part in the Arts & Crafts street fair. Entertainment will include Country Gospel Bands, plus demonstrations by Fit Happens! Studio Aerobics, the Cedarcrest High School Cheerleaders, TJ Dance Studio, Tae Kwon Do, and Tai Chi.

Bring your frog and enter it in the infamous Frog Jump competition. Pick your square for the Cow Pie Bingo and watch the local firefighters challenge each other and show off their skills at the Family Grocer parking lot.

Festival-goers may either participate in or just watch the Fit Happens! Aerobathon which benefits the Duvall Family Emergency Fund.

On Sunday, the Duvall firefighters will host their annual pancake breakfast.

All those wishing to participate in the Duvall Days Parade must complete a parade entry form prior to May 13. This includes participants of the Kids Parade. Applications can be picked up at Valley Mailbox, Duvall City Hall, Seafirst Bank, or Valley Community Bank, or call the Special Events hotline at 788-8956, leaving your name and address and one will be mailed to you.

In order to encourage more participation for the Arts & Crafts Fair, booth fees for local residents (zip codes 98019 and 98014) have been reduced as follows: booth space (10X10), $45; booth space that will accommodate a canopy or vehicle, $50.

Participants must provide their own booths. No electricity or water hookups are supplied. Deadline for booth registration is May 1. Applications can be returned by mail or in person at Valley Mailbox in Duvall.

Registration forms for the 5K Fun Run are available at any of the locations listed for applications. The race will be Saturday, May 15 at 9 a.m.
