Free legal clinics on the Eastside

   Got a question about family law, real estate, estate planning, bankruptcy, your rights as a consumer, or other legal matters? The Eastside Legal Assistance Program (ELAP), volunteer attorneys and paralegal professionals attorneys, are offering a free "Sidewalk Justice Sale" on May 4 and 5 at the following locations:

   Tues., May 4, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Bellevue Community College (Building C, Cafeteria); Tues., May 4, Noon-2 p.m., Factoria Mall; Wed., May 5 Noon-2 p.m., Bellevue Square; Wed., May 5, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Lake Washington Technical College (near bookstore); Wed., May 5 Noon-2 p.m., Crossroads Shopping Center.

   No appointments are needed, but visitors will be limited to 15-minute consultations. For individuals whose questions are too complicated to solve during the clinics, ELAP representatives will try to refer them to other community resources.

   ELAP offers legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, plus self-help workshops, public lectures, and various assistance (including help with preparing wills) for senior citizens, direct representation services in areas such as family law, bankruptcy, landlord/tenant issues, public assistance, employment and housing discrimination, guardianships, and estate planning.
