Nominations sought for outstanding community volunteers

The Snoqualmie Valley Community Network is seeking nominations from the community for outstanding volunteers, to be honored at its third annual Rise and Shine Breakfast in May.

Nomination forms are available through most Snoqualmie Valley PTSA's and at local schools, churches, and community agencies. Nomination forms may also be obtained by calling the Network office at 333-6614.

Both groups and individuals will be honored. Awards will be made in several categories, including previously unrecognized efforts, inspirational efforts, contributions "above and beyond," and efforts promoting respect for diversity.

Awards will also be made for volunteer activities directly supporting the Network goals of creating healthy community norms, creating a strong sense of community, strengthening families, and ensuring that children are endowed with values, commitment, and competence. Community nominations are sought for each category.

The Rise and Shine Breakfast will take place from 7:30-9 a.m., Tuesday, June 8 at Remlinger Farms in Carnation.

The Snoqualmie Valley Community Network is a community-based group charged by the legislature with reducing youth problem behaviors locally.

More information about the volunteer awards program, the Rise and Shine Breakfast or the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network is available from Ellen Kropp, Network coordinator, at 333-6614.
