Woodinville gymnast qualifies for National Level 10 Junior Olympics

   Woodinville's 13-year-old Brittany Billmaier finished third in the recent Level 10 regional gymnastics competition which included gymnasts from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

   The top seven finishers, including Billmaier, will travel to Austin, Texas on May 14-16 to compete with the best gymnasts from around the nation in the United States Gymnastics Association Junior Olympics.

   Billmaier received an all-around score of 36.225, winning second place silver medals on the beam (9.075) and on the floor exercise (9.325), and a bronze medal on the vault (9.25).

   "I'm really excited about Nationals," Billmaier said. "The competition will be tough, but it will be a great experience."

   Brittany is coached by John and Tammy Carney of Northwest Aerials in Kirkland. In previous years, Brittany has been the Level 9 Washington State floor champion and Level 9 Six State Regional Vault Champion.
