Festival of the Arts to benefit center

The Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation (NPACF) will host a Festival of the Arts May 23, starting at 3 p.m. at Pop Keeney Field in Bothell.

Entertainment will be provided by the Bothell High School Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Inglemoor High School Wind Symphony and Woodinville High School Thespians. Complimentary food and beverages will be served. Tickets are $10 and are available at the gate or by calling (425) 489-6638.

The Festival will be the kickoff event for a membership drive to help fund the development of the Northshore Performing Arts Center, a planned new facility that will serve the Bothell, Kenmore, and Woodinville communities. The goal of the drive is to form a "Founders' Club" of 2,000 members, each donating $50 or more annually.

NPACF has been working for three years toward the creation of a facility that will include two theaters, a 1,000-1,200 seat concert hall, and a 350-seat playhouse, plus such additional spaces as a rehearsal hall, dressing rooms, audience amenities, shops, storage, and teaching or meeting rooms. The Center will feature performances by local music and drama companies; school groups, from elementary to college level; and traveling shows. The Performing Arts Center will also be available for a variety of educational purposes.

To join the Founders' Club and attend the Festival of the Arts for free, or for more information, call 425-489-6638, or write NPACF; P.O. Box 486; Bothell, WA 98041-0486.
