New eagle scout

Woodinville resident Neil Widmaier was honored for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor ceremony April 24 at the Woodinville United Church of Christ. He is a member of Woodinville Boy Scout Troop 422.

Widmaier earned 24 merit badges and served the troop in leadership positions, including Troop Guide for two years and Patrol Leader for six months.

For his Eagle project, he organized a campaign to inform neighborhoods about the importance of keeping local waterways clean. The project totaled 160 hours of work and included the efforts of 22 scouts and adults.

Troop 422 meets at Leota Junior High School on the first and third Mondays of each month. For information, call Mike Gaylord, scoutmaster, at 206-748-1614.
