Invitations out for Kenmore's first birthday party

KENMORE--It's going to be a party for the whole community on Sunday, August 29, to celebrate the first anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Kenmore. A grand parade and kiddies' parade will highlight the day's festivities with lots of music, entertainment, clowns, prizes, and good ol' family fun.

The festivities will be located in Kenmore Village in the vicinity of the new City Hall, which is scheduled to open this summer. The parade at noon will begin at the Park & Ride lot on 173rd and Bothell Way and proceed down NE 181st to Kenmore Village.

The birthday party will be from 1 to 5 p.m. following the parade. The planning committee promises a fun afternoon for the whole family in this event. And, of course, there will be free birthday cake for everyone.

Brochures are being distributed to individuals, families, community clubs, and organizations, inviting them to be a part of the day's celebration. The official entry form for the parade or for those who wish to have a booth in Kenmore Village during the celebration can be secured at city hall, as well as businesses throughout Kenmore.
