Northshore PTA Council awards scholarships

   Each year, the Northshore PTA Council awards scholarships to financially assist graduating seniors with their continuing educations. The 1999 scholarship recipients are: Bothell High School, Bona Kim; Inglemoor High School, Crystal Lam; Woodinville High School, Bethany Keffer.

SEPAC hosts speaker, presents awards

   Northshore's Special Education Parents Advisory Council (SEPAC) will present Bill Dussault, an attorney specializing in disability law, Wednesday, May 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Auditorium, 18315 Bothell Way NE in Bothell. Dussault will discuss "Advocacy and the Parent/School Partnership." At the same meeting, SEPAC will present 13 Northshore District teacher and educational staff member awards. Thirteen $75 awards will be given to individuals who excel in providing educational opportunities for students with special needs. Free childcare is available, but advance registration is required by calling (425) 489-6311 by Monday, May 24.

Inglemoor student wins scholarship

   The Woodinville Garden Club's Fern Rain Stratton Memorial Scholarship was awarded this year to Jenelle Ljunghammar, a senior at Inglemoor High School. The committee was impressed by her level of community service, her desire to protect and improve our environment, as well as her outstanding academic record. The $1,000 award will be used for tuition, fees, and books at a college of her choice. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Phil Ljunghammar of Kenmore.
