Parents of Multiples meets

   Monroe Parents of Multiples invites parents of multiples to join them in making homes more child safe on Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. Club members will go through the house noting safety measures you can implement. For directions, call Korynna at 360-805-2541.

Duvall Church Homelife Conference

   The Duvall Church will hold a Homelife Conference on Saturday, May 22. Seminars and events for every age are included. The conference will feature Kirby Wilbur, KVI radio talk show host, and Mark Thompson, musical ventriloquist. Saturday events include Soup Made Easy, Ventriloquism with Mr. Thompson, Greeting Cards for All Occasions, Fishing with Gene, Don't Get Stuck on the Web (Internet Navigation), The Risk of Honesty in Relationships, Carving the Holiday Bird, Performing Arts Workshop 1 & 2, How to Keep the IRS from Taking Over Half Your Estate, From Mess to Rest, Mr. Thompson and Friends Concert, and The Importance of Fatherhood. All day Saturday, $10 per family, lunch included. Also, a free Debt-Free Living seminar will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Carnival at Cherry Valley Elementary

   The Cherry Valley PTA presents a "Clowning Around Carnival" on Saturday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cherry Valley Elementary. One price covers all booths and activities (concessions extra). Booths and activities will include: The Choo-Choo Express, a Giant Party Bouncer, Ellie the Elephant, The Skyscraper Slide, a Giant Ball Pond, "Splativity" Multi-Play, a Cake Walk, Balloon Darts, Craft Booth, Face Painting, Balloon Shaving, a Roller-Racer Course, and more.

Writers' group being formed

   Would you like to join a group of writers who seek to perfect their writing skills, meet regularly to read and critique each other's works and lend support and constructive criticism in a relaxed atmosphere? If you are a writer and would like to participate, or inquire for more information, please call Brenda Skinner at 425-844-8274. This group is being sponsored by the Duvall Arts Commission.

'Isaac' to perform at Sassy Sisters

   On Saturday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m., a local 25-year-old singer/songwriter will perform original and popular songs at a free event at Sassy Sisters Consignment & Coffee next to Seafirst Bank in Duvall. Dinner is ready by 6 p.m. as well as coffee and desserts.

Lower Valley youth meeting

   Lower Valley Youth Programs will meet May 20, 3:15 at the Carnation Fire Hall. YMCA, Children's Services, King County Parks, and others will update programs.

'Pinocchio Commedia' at Cedarcrest

   On June 13, at 2 p.m., the Arts Onstage series concludes its spring season with Storybook Theater's production of Pinocchio Commedia. This is an original musical adaptation of the classic children's story. Although Storybook Theatre designs its shows for the preschool through fourth grade audience, children of all ages, from 1 to 101, enjoy this company's bright, humorous style. This event will take place at the Cedarcrest Performing Arts Center at 29000 NE 150th in Duvall. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for children under five (ticket required). Tickets are available by mail. Send a check with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Duvall Arts, P.O. Box 1043, Duvall, WA 98019. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at Sassy Sisters or Gardens and SunSpaces on Main Street in Duvall. Sno-Valley Seniors plant sale

   The Sno-Valley Senior Center will be holding its annual plant sale, bake sale, and soup/roll lunch at the Center in Carnation on Friday, May 21, 10-4, and Saturday, May 22, from 9:30-4. Proceeds will go toward supporting Center programs. On both days, hanging baskets, annuals, perennials, veggies, herbs, and garden things will be featured, as well as homemade baked goodies and lunch.
