Weight restrictions on SR-202 lifted due to landslide stabilization

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has lifted the weight restriction that had been enforced on SR-202, from the intersection of SR-203 in Fall City to the town of Snoqualmie (mileposts 21.8 to 26).

The restriction began in early January as a precautionary measure for a steadily progressing landslide. The location of the landslide is immediately down slope from SR-202 at milepost 25, approximately one mile northwest of Snoqualmie Falls.

WSDOT crews have been monitoring the hillside since early January and have determined that the slope is stable enough to lift the restriction. If further movement is observed, the restriction will be reinstated. The highway will be open in both directions until plans for reconstruction work on the slopes can be finalized.
