Kokanee teacher faces five more accusations

At least five additional girls have come forward with allegations of sexual molestation against a 48-year-old male Kokanee Elementary School teacher.

The man was arrested by Snohomish County detectives on Thursday, May 20, after they received reports of molestation from the families of two other female students of the fifth- and sixth-grade teacher. The as-yet unidentified teacher has taught in the Northshore District since 1977, the last five at Kokanee. He was released on $15,000 bail on Friday, May 21, pending charges.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Jan Jorgenson said their investigation could take another two weeks.

The popular teacher, well-known by parents who have worked with him in the district's Parents Active in Cooperative Education (PACE) program, could face seven charges, if no more present or past students come forward.
