Summer kick-off party for teens and families
An alcohol-and-drug-free party to kick off the beginning of summer is planned for June 12, 6-10 p.m. at Si View Park in North Bend. The free party will feature a DJ from Bellevue, music, a dance, prizes, and a barbecue. Teens and families are invited. Chaperones are needed. Skateboard park grand opening
North Bend's new skateboard park will have its grand opening on June 12 from 3-6 p.m. at 750 East North Bend Way. Show off your skills and get a free T-shirt. For information, call Noreen at 831-5543.
Farewell reception for Dr. Ernst
Riverview School District will be hosting a farewell reception for Dr. Jack Ernst on Monday, June 21, from 3-5 p.m. in the Cherry Valley Elementary School library. All staff, students, and community members are welcome to attend as the district wishes Dr. Ernst the best as he takes over as Superintendent of Schools for Springfield, Missouri, on July 1.
Meeting set to discuss rock quarry
The Friends of Cherry Valley will be holding a meeting regarding the Hayes Rock Quarry on Thursday, June 10, 7 p.m. at the Cherry Gardens Community Club. For information, call 788-2478 or 844-1419.
Community to march for children
A community march for parent support and against child abuse and neglect (in memory of Charlotte Wetzel, who died last year at the hands of her care provider) is set for Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m. at Ben Franklin, Hwy. 2, Monroe. The march will extend west to Fred Meyer parking lot. Free T-shirts for the first 50 participants. White balloons will be released at the end of the march in honor of Charlotte and all children who have been victims of child abuse and neglect. Support is needed. Encore performance by 'ISAAC' at Sassy Sisters

Wastemobile to visit Carnation
The King County Solid Waste Division's traveling Household Wastemobile will be in Carnation at Tolt Middle School on June 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, and 27 from 10 to 5.
Child care training available
Help is available for those who are considering becoming licensed child care providers. Children's Services of Sno-Valley is offering first aid and CPR training, child care basic training, and other information.
