Concert was a great gift for Dr. Jack Ernst

I had the privilege to attend the all-district band concert on June 8. This concert was performed by bands from Carnation, Stillwater, and Cherry Valley elementary schools, Tolt Middle School, and Cedarcrest High School.

It also included the jazz bands from Tolt Middle School and Cedarcrest High School. The concert was fantastic. All the bands played at least one piece (some played more). The final performance was "Louie, Louie," performed by all the bands.

I was very proud of each student who performed, and I applaud every single one of you. I was very proud of our district.

Dr. Jack Ernst attended the performance. I talked with him after the concert, and he was very proud of all the students and their instructors. He also told me it had been his dream to some day fill the Cedarcrest gym with band students performing this type of concert. He had it planned that this would be accomplished in five years.

But with the support and dedication of all the teachers, instructors, students, and parents, his dream came true in four years. I think this was a great gift for Dr. Ernst before he leaves our district.
