WOODINVILLE--A public interactive planning session for the new City Hall on Wednesday, June 9, gave citizens a chance to review and suggest site plan options and building specifications. The session was led by Bob Hatheway, project manager from the RISE Group.
Although only 12 of 160 invitations sent by city staff to community groups and business owners were accepted, about 20 citizens participated. They included representatives from Canterbury, Brittany Park, the Arts Board, Senior Services, and the Historical Society.
Hatheway supplied a board with a map of the three-acre site and surrounding properties, with movable puzzle pieces representing the City Hall building, green zones, and parking lots. Public Works Director Mick Monken said citizen input was very positive.
Brittany Park residents wanted assurance that they would have an attractive landscape to look at. Senior citizens requested a service location in City Hall, so seniors looking for activities would have easy access to such information.
The next City Hall Open House will be held Tuesday, June 22, from 7-9 p.m. in the City Council chambers, behind the present City Hall.
