Kern Gillette

New chief CEO at Molbak's

   Kern Gillette has been named as Chief Executive Officer of Woodinville-based Molbak's, Inc.

   Gillette was president and CEO of Cinnabon, a leading retailer of gourmet cinnamon rolls, where he previously held the position of chief financial officer. His experience prior to joining Cinnabon includes 20 years in senior management positions with retail and direct response companies including Reese Brothers, Action Industries, and General Nutrition (GNC). From 1979 to 1985, Gilette was controller and director of planning for REI, retailer of active outdoor sports equipment.

   "Kern brings to Molbak's and unusual blend of operational, financial, retailing, and people skills. We look forward to his leadership and welcome him to Molbak's," said Chairman Egon Molbak.

   Meanwhile, Gillette said, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Molbak's. Molbak's is a unique company in this market and has unlimited possibilities for the future."

   Gillette received a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Washington and an MBSA from Eastern Washington University and is a CPA. He and his wife Kathleen reside with their three children in the Seattle area.

   Egon Molbak, who co-founded the company with his wife Laina, continues as chairman. Their daughter, Kirsten Molbak, is vice chairman.
