Bear Creek Elementary students held their their first fun run, sponsored by the Bear Creek PTA.

Over $7,000 was raised by the students, who asked sponsors for donations in return for their participation. The money will go toward new playground equipment for the school.

Students walked, jogged, and stopped at Fitness Stations, including a soccer challenge course, long jump, balance beam, hula hoop, and 40-yard dash.

One student from each grade who raised the highest donations from sponsors won the grand prize: a trip in a limousine to downtown Woodinville for lunch with Principal Andie Pope.
