Jessica Luce

National opportunity for local girl scout

Jessica Luce, daughter of Stewart and Jeannine Luce, has been selected for a national opportunity with the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., operated by the Mid-Continent Council of Girl Scouts in Kansas City, Missouri, and sponsored by the Kansas City, Missouri, Rotary Club #13.

Jessica, a student at Cedarcrest High School, is a member of Senior Girl Scout Troop #166, of Totem Council.

The event will be held June 29 to July 26 near Independence, Missouri. After six days of intensive training, in cooperation with specialists in the area of physical disabilities, Jessica and 31 other Senior Girl Scouts will serve 60-80 girls for two-8-day camp sessions.

The physically challenged girls will have a rare out-of-doors adventure while the Senior Girl Scouts get firsthand experience for possible future careers.

Extensive pre-camp assignments are being completed by each selectee. When she returns home, Jessica will be prepared to share her experience with her sister Girl Scouts and community friends.
