WART returns for summer run

   The recreation shuttle bus, Woodinville Area Recreation Transit, or WART, returns to the area this summer offering residents of Woodinville and Bothell free transportation to local summer destinations.

   The WART shuttle runs Monday through Friday, to August 27. The bus runs two continuing routes beginning at 9 a.m. throughout the day with final pick-ups between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Pick-up and drop off locations include Kingsgate and Woodinville libraries, Wilmot Park, Cineplex Theatre, Cottage Lake Park and Pool, Northshore YMCA, Northshore Pool, and various other locations.

   The shuttle is a cooperative community effort sponsored by the City of Woodinville and the City of Bothell. Busing service is provided by METRO. Rep. Schmidt announces run for secretary of state

   State Rep. Dave Schmidt, R-Bothell, announced recently he will be a candidate for secretary of state. Ralph Munro, who served five four-year terms in the office, is not running for re-election next year.

   Schmidt, 45, is a member of the Northshore Chamber of Commerce, the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, and the Mill Creek Rotary. Schmidt and his wife, Debi, have two children, Charissa, 16, and Matthew, 14.
