Animal classes for kids

Have a snack with Benny the pig, hunt for bugs, or learn about milk and eggs and the animals who make them. It's all part of the program at the Living Legacy Community Ranch's Saturday nature/animal classes for children. These hands-on educational classes for preschoolers and elementary-school-aged students will help children learn more about how farms produce our food and the plants and animals who play a part. All classes will be held on Saturdays in July and August at Living Legacy Community Ranch, 13651 Wood-Redmond Rd., just north of the Root Connection CSA Farm. Preschool classes run from 10-11 a.m. Cost is $5 per class for a preschooler and one adult. Topics include: "Ranch Chores" (July 17); "Wet and Wild" (July 24); and "Fun With Fibers" (July 31). Classes will be repeated in August. To register, or for more information, call Cyd Adler at (206) 241-5867.
