Northshore YMCA announces new instructional classes

The Northshore YMCA has several instructional classes for infants through adults. All classes run for an 8-week session that begins every other month. The current session runs through the end of August and the next session will begin after Labor Day weekend.

Kid's Gym is open for infants-preschool. Classes are developmentally suited for a variety of ages and help children increase their mobility, strength, and awareness. Classes are held on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays and Saturdays at the YMCA.

Gymnastics is geared to youth, ages 5-12, at a beginning and intermediate level. Classes are held on Saturday mornings, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Tae Kwon Do has both youth and adult classes that focus on self-esteem and self-confidence. Youth, ages 7-9 participate on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4-5:30 p.m., and the adult classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights from 7-8:30 p.m.

Women's Self Defense classes are held on Saturday afternoons, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and are geared for females, ages 12 through adults.

Everyone is welcome to participate in YMCA programs; financial assitance to the extent possible is available for those in need, thanks to the YMCA Partners With Youth fund. For information, call Scott Gillespie at 425-485-9797, or drop by the Northshore YMCA.
