King County requests wastewater site proposals

   The King County Dept. of Natural Resources, Wastewater Treatment Division, has submitted a formal request for Letters of Interest, Statements of Qualifications and Proposals, from firms qualified and interested in providing consultant services to the County, in selecting a site for a new regional wastewater treatment facility, conveyance facilities, and routes and the location of a new marine outfall.

   Interested firms may obtain a copy of the Request for Proposals by calling 206-684-1270 or from the Professional and Construction Services Section (PCSS), 12th Floor of the Exchange Bldg., 821 Second Ave., Seattle, WA 98104. PCSS counter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., M-F.

   Proposals are due August 16, 1999, by 3 p.m. A Preproposal meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. on July 22, 1999, in Room 3960 of the Key Tower Bldg., 700 Fifth Ave., Seattle. The estimated contract range is $2.8-$3 million over a three-year performance period.

   This project will include the development of the strategic approach to the selection process, formulation of criteria by which to analyze alternatives, implementation and documentation of the selection process, and the associated government and public processes to reach agreement with all parties involved. In order to reach agreement, mitigation must be determined and all related negotiations required for reaching a complete community consensus.
