Cold Stone Creamery wins Northshore PTA 'Business of the Year' award

   Cold Stone Creamery Manager Eric Johnson was working with East Ridge Elementary to increase PTA membership within weeks of the store's opening, said Lora L. Taylor of Northshore PTA's Business Recognition Council. Cold Stone offered a free ice cream party, with the chance to create their own ice cream flavor, to the class with the highest percentage of parents joining the PTA. Within weeks, PTA membership was up 26 percent. Cold Stone also gave the top three classes free ice cream coupons.

College offers flagger training class

   The Continuing Education Department of Shoreline Community College will sponsor a Flagger Training course on Saturday, July 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flagger Training will be held at the Northshore Senior Center, 10201 E. Riverside Drive, in Bothell. Fee for the course is $35. Students who complete the course will receive a Flagger Certification Card. Preregistration for the class is required.
