Outdoor burning banned
Duvall-King County Fire District 45 will ban outdoor burning from July 16 to Oct. 1. Call 788-1625 for information.
Camlann Faire begins
Camlann Medieval Village is open on Saturdays and Sundays from July 17 until Aug. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., located on 10320 Kelly Rd. NE, Carnation. Call 788-8624.
Art in the Park in Monroe
The 11th annual Art in the Park will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, from 10-7, and Sunday, Aug. 22, from 10-5 at Traveler's Park, corner of Highway 2 and Main St. (east end of Monroe). Admission is free. Belly dancers perform at Sassy Sisters
Belly up to Sassy Sisters Consignment & Coffee on Saturday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. for an exciting performance by "Troupe Arashida," a group of talented Middle Eastern dancers. Fun, falafels, and a mini-lesson will take place after the performance. The shop is located next to Seafirst Bank in Duvall. Call 844-2766.
Talent and Karaoke Night
Main Street Music in Duvall will host its 2nd Talent and Karaoke Night on Saturday, July 24, from 7-9 p.m. Talent will be the Hooligans: Mike Barksdale, Ryan Morey, and Aaron Besmer, featuring their own style of punk-influenced, alternative power-pop music. Karaoke will follow the Hooligans until 9 p.m. Main Street Music is located behind Coast to Coast.
Parents will have an opportunity to learn how to prepare their children for school at a July workshop at the Duvall Family Center of Children's Services of Sno-Valley. The Duvall workshop is open to parents and children ages 4 and 5 and is set for Thursday, July 29, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Please register by calling Eastside Literacy at 844-2459 or 558-2459.
Basil Weekend at The Herbfarm
Basil Weekend at The Herbfarm is set for July 24 and 25. Sample different pestos made from the fresh leaves of basil.
Classes at Valley General Hospital in Monroe
Adult CPR will be taught on Monday, Aug. 2, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.; fee $7. An 8-week Childbirth Preparation class will be held Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. from Aug. 5-Sept. 23; fee is $70. To register for these classes, call Pat Commisso or Martha Dankers at 360-794-1411.
Activities at Duvall Children's Services
Summer Day Camp: Summer camp will run July 26-30 for children ages 3-6 years of age. Camp includes an a.m. session (10 a.m.-noon) and a p.m. session (1-3 p.m.) Cost per session is $40. Nature hikes, science activities, outdoor water play, creative arts and crafts, bubble fun, literature, and dramatic play are planned to make this a great summer experience for young children.
