King County forming citizen advisory committee on transit

The King County Department of Transportation is recruiting citizens to serve on a new transit advisory committee.

The committee will advise Metro transit staff and King County elected officials on transit issues and policy. Members will represent residents, businesses, and other stakeholders concerned about transit service in King County.

The department is seeking 15 King County residents, predominantly bus riders, to serve on the transit advisory committee. The committee will meet monthly or as needed to complete the work plan and address other issues as they arise.

To apply for committee membership, citizens must submit letters of interest by Aug. 6, 1999. Letters of interest should be mailed to Mary Coltrane, community relations planner; 821 Second Ave., M.S. 92; Seattle, WA 98104-1598. For more information about the committee, call (206) 263-3424.
