Candidates declare for Northshore, Valley offices

   Applications for public offices within King County were due by 4:30 p.m. last Friday, July 30. City Council positions were open in Bothell, Kenmore, Woodinville, Duvall, and Carnation.

   Three Northshore School Board positions, two Northshore Utility District Commissioner positions, two Woodinville Water District positions, two Woodinville Fire & Life Safety District Commissioner positions, one Fire Protection District No. 16 (Kenmore) position, and two Public Hospital District No. 2 (Evergreen Hospital) Commissioner positions were also open.

   All city council positions are for four years, except Bothell's Position No. 3, which is for the unexpired two-year term of former Mayor Debbie Treen. Northshore School District Board positions are four-year terms except Position No. 1, which is an unexpired two-year term. Woodinville Water District positions are both for six years. Fire Commissioner positions in Kenmore and Woodinville are for six years, except an unexpired, two-year term for Position No. 4. The Northshore Utility District and Public Hospital District No. 2 positions are for six years, except the unexpired, two-year Position No. 5 for Public Hospital Dist. No. 2.

   At press time last Friday, the following candidates' applications had been recorded by the County:
