WOODINVILLE--In accordance with the National Association of Town Watch, Woodinville Mayor Don Brocha officially declared Aug. 3 as "National Night Out" for Woodinville.
The program was designed to promote cooperative partnerships between police and neighborhood safety groups. Woodinville police will work with citizens to increase awareness of the importance of their role in crime prevention, drug use, and violence in their neighborhoods.
The City's Community Services Coordinator, Marie Stake, has mailed notices to 15 known Block Watch groups, offering Woodinville Police Dept. seminars in their neighborhoods, to teach them effective crime prevention methods.
Interested parties should contact Stake at 425-489-2700, ext. 245, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact the Woodinville Police Dept. Operations Supervisor, Sgt. Kent Baxter, at 425-489-2700.
