LeBarge named WWU 'Athlete of Century'

   BELLINGHAM--Woodinville High grad Peter LeBarge was recently named Western Washington University "Male Athlete of the Century." LeBarge was named NAIA All-American in both football and soccer for the Vikings. LeBarge was named all-league in football as both a kicker and punter from 1986-88. His NAIA football records still stand for field goals attempted in a game (eight) and career (78). He still holds 14 WWU records. After trying out for two NFL teams as a kicker, LeBarge returned to WWU for two seasons of soccer. He holds WWU records for goals in a game (five), season (21), and career (41).

Wiessner scores hole-in-one

   Longtime Woodinville resident Cliff Wiessner scored a "hole-in-one" using an eight iron on the 122-yard third hole at Wellington Hills Country Club on Monday, August 2. "It must have been the hat," Wiessner said, to what he attributed the fine shot.

Basketball applications at libraries

   Applications are available at the Bothell and Woodinville libraries for the fall programs for Northshore Youth Basketball. Programs are for boys and girls, grades 1-12. Check the applications for further details.
