Camlann Village offers link to medieval Europe

The Camlann Medieval Faire annual summer festival is in full swing, offering Old World crafts, knights in armor, minstrels, and evening banquets. The festival was first held in 1981 and recreates a 14th-century English village faire.

According to Camlann founder and coordinator Roger Shell, the village was developed to help visitors connect to the more intimate, handcrafted world of medieval Europe.

The village is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through August 29, and is located at 10320 Kelly Road Northeast, three miles north of Carnation. Admission is $5-$8.

The village also offers medieval banquets at the Bors Hede, educational field trips and craft shops with period costumes to buy or rent, and books on medieval history, cooking, and culture. Call 425-788-8624 for information.
