September 13, 1999
Last September, he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Mariners game. He and his family were given a trip to Disneyland by community members who admired his cheerful approach to a six-year battle against leukemia.
Michael finally succumbed to that battle on Sunday, Sept. 5. After enduring three years of chemotherapy, Michael received a bone marrow transplant from his brother, Jonathan, in 1997. He appeared to have won the battle, until the illness reappeared this spring.
Memorial services will be held Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Northlake Baptist Church, 10301 NE 145th St., Bothell (98011). Memorial donations may be sent to the church. Michael is survived by his parents, Mark and Sheryl Linders, and brothers Jonathan, 10, and David, 12.
