Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Evergreen

Evergreen Hospital Medical Center's Spiritual Care Department has recently received accreditation of its Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.) program. C.P.E. is a nationally recognized program of training offered to those preparing for some form of ministry.

The program is open to all faiths and is recognized by the United States Department of Education. Evergreen will become one of only 400 centers nationwide to receive this accreditation as a center for C.P.E. training.

In anticipation of a new series of ongoing educational opportunities for professionals in ministry, the Spiritual Care Department is hosting an "Interfaith Celebration of Spiritual Care" on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 3-5 p.m. in Evergreen's main campus courtyard and galleria (12040 NE 128th St., Kirkland). Also recognized at the celebration will be the work of Faith in Action, an organization that develops partnerships with communities of faith regarding care for those facing end-of-life events.

Beginning in October, the Spiritual Care Department will offer half-day seminars for professionals in ministry regarding specific issues and concerns patients and families may have. Open primarily to clergy, the focus will be on how professionals respond to the needs of those involved in the midst of a health crisis. These seminars will be offered on different topics approximately five times during the course of the year.
