Free Senior Festival to be held at Marymoor Park

   Senior citizens from all over King County can dance, take a wagon ride, or learn about Eastside history during the King County Park System's 14th Annual Senior Festival on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the historic Clise Mansion in Marymoor Park near Redmond. Free activities at this special party for senior citizens include a live dance band in the mansion's ballroom, covered horse-drawn wagon rides around the park, refreshments such as ice cream sundaes, and tours of the Clise Museum. Seniors can also learn more about other recreational and educational opportunities available through the King County Park System. The festival starts at 2 p.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m. All senior citizens are invited to attend this free event. For more information, call the King County Park Systems at 206-296-2964.

Corn fest and barbecue at Farmers Market

   Enjoy the seasonal harvest at the annual Corn Fest and BBQ at the Woodinville Farmers' Market Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Market features Farm Fresh, Hand Made, and Home Grown items. Enjoy freshly grilled barbecue ribs between 11a.m. and 3 p.m. Also a free ear of corn will go to every shopper. The Market is located next to City Hall, 13205 NE 175th in downtown Woodinville, and is open every Saturday through mid-October. The market and its related events are free and open to the public. Blood drives

   The Puget Sound Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the Franciscan Care Center parking lot, 10909 NE 185th St., Bothell, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Captura Software, 1629 220th St. SE, Suite 101, Bothell, will be the site of a blood drive Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Donors should eat a full meal and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.

   Learn how to improve health and vitality by cleansing and detoxification at the Bothell Library on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. Free. 487-4821.

Nature walks and canoeing at block party

   Families are invited to attend a special Watershed Block Party on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pacific Science Center's Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, 1625 118th Ave. SE in Bellevue. Activities will include nature walks, canoeing (at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.), homemade slough berry ice cream, and interpretive displays. For information, call (425) 450-0207.
