Bus riders' alert

During the week of September 27-October 1, the Northshore School District Transportation Department will conduct its annual ridership survey. The results of this survey determine how much money the district will receive in transportation from the State for the entire school year. It is very important that the District have the maximum number of students who are eligible for transportation ride their bus to school during that week. Students who periodically use alternate means to get to school are encouraged to ride their bus during survey week.

New principal at Canyon Creek Elementary

Kristin Tammetta, currently an assistant principal at both Maywood Hills and Moorlands elementaries, has been selected to replace Kathy Clayton as principal of Canyon Creek Elementary. Clayton resigned in August to become principal at an elementary school in the Spokane area and to be closer to family. Jeanne Lundgren, retired Northshore principal, most recently at Frank Love Elementary, has served as interim principal at Canyon Creek. Tammetta has been in the Northshore School District since the spring of 1998. Initially, she completed an internship at Skyview Junior High as part of her work in the Danforth Educational Leadership Program at the University of Washington. She was then hired as assistant principal working part time at Maywood Hills and Eastridge elementaries.
