Cedar Park exchange students and semifinalists

   Twelve Cedar Park Christian School 8th grade students; the middle school administrator, Kay McIntosh; and teacher Carolyn Cross took part in an exchange program with Bothell's sister city in Koganei, Japan, from Oct. 4-12.

   The students were participating in a program that began this summer when students from a Tokyo suburb came to the Seattle-Bothell area. The students who represented Bothell were Michelle Berger, Natalie Asahara, Andrew Filion, Stacie Swicord, Julie Holmquist, Ashley Royce, Michael Innes, Chris Overland, Michael Sellman, Kami Born, Nicole Aguilar, and Angela Cornelissen.

   In other news, Two Cedar Park Christian School students were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. Scott Sifferman and Polly Yorioka have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.

   Scott has spent his entire academic career at Cedar Park Christian School, beginning in pre-kindergarden. He is the son of Robert and Sandee Sifferman of Kirkland. Polly has attended Cedar Park for four years. She is the daugher of Gerald and Nina Yorioka of Mill Creek.
