Girls basketball seeking support

The Cedarcrest Girls Basketball Team is seeking community support in the form of cash donations, new items, or services for their fundraising auction on Oct. 23, 6 p.m., at Cedarcrest High School. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Girls Basketball Team for the $10,000 needed for an exhibition tournament in San Diego, California. The state or Riverview School District cannot provide these funds, so community support is needed. For information, call Donna Gustat at 788-8965 or Diane Salz at 788-8906.

Cedarcrest High School will be offering classes to help juniors and seniors prepare for the SAT test on the next three Saturdays in October. Class begins at 8 a.m. in a Cedarcrest classroom (probably room 242). Students must sign up and pay their $50 fee by Oct. 20. These are voluntary sessions. If students want to take only one or two of the sessions, they may elect to do so. The fall preparation program is targeted for seniors, although juniors may attend. There will also be a spring preparation program.
