Initiative sends message to elected officials

   I read the Woodinville Weekly article about the car tab initiative. If our elected officials really listened to the people who elected them, then the people would not put such measures on the ballot.

   Another article in that issue of the Weekly points out how our money is being wasted. The improvements to SR-522 miss the mark. Everyone who drives that stretch of highway knows that an overpass should be built at Paradise Lake Road and Echo Lake Road. This may never happen. Instead, money is being spent on improvements that will do nothing to solve the backups on Paradise Lake Road or SR-522.

   I think this initiative has more to do with sending our elected officials a message than it does with tax relief.
