Bothell Parks: Safe Halloween fun, CPR, scrapbooks, self-defense

   Safe Halloween on Bothell's Main Street will be offered on Sat., Oct. 30th. Face painting, fish pond, and trick-or-treating will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. To enter the jack-o-lantern contest, bring your carved pumpkin to the corner of Main & 101st between 2-4 p.m. The public will vote and prizes will be awarded at 6 p.m.

   CPR Class will be offered at Bothell's Downtown Firehouse (10726 Beardslee Blvd.) on Wed., Nov. 3rd, 7-10pm. Class size is limited; pre-registration is required.

   Scrapbook Basics Class will teach you step-by-step how to turn your boxes of photos and memorabilia into keepsake, photo-safe albums. You will learn the techniques for cropping, layouts, mounting, journaling, and much more. You'll create the first page of your album. Bring 6-8 photos relating to one event. Cost is $10 for the class. Class to be held Thurs., Nov. 4th, 6:30-8:30 pm, at the Adult Day Care Center (9929 NE 180th Bothell). Pre-registration is required by Nov. 1.

   Self-Defense for Women will be held Thursdays, Nov. 4-Dec. 9th (excluding Nov. 11 & Nov. 25) from 7 to 8 p.m. at Skyview Jr. High School, 21404-35th Ave. SE, Bothell. This class will teach basic self-defense skills, plus how to be pro-active where your personal safety is concerned. Pre-registration required by Nov. 1st. Cost is $49/person; $25 for 2nd family member.
