Referral for Northshore gifted programs begins

The referral process for gifted programs in the Northshore School District for 2000-2001 begins Nov. 1.

The elementary gifted program is now referred to as the Elementary Advanced Program. For students in grades 2-5 interested in applying for the 2000-2001 school year, applications will be available at their neighborhood schools on Nov. 1. If a parent is thinking about referring a possible candidate, they must complete the referral and turn it into their neighborhood school by Nov. 29.

Applications will also be available in neighborhood schools by Nov. 1, for students in 6th-8th grade who are interested in the highly capable program for humanities or math. The completed applications are due by Nov. 30.

A parent information night on both the Elementary advanced program and the highly capable program will be held Nov. 4 in the Woodinville High School theater from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, call Ford Waterstrat, Coordinator of Gifted Programs, at 489-6228.
