Cindy Trujillo named Distinguished Teacher

Cindy Trujillo, a math teacher at Northshore Junior High, has been selected as a winner of the Edyth May Sliffe Award for Distinguished Junior High School Mathematics Teaching by the Mathematical Association of America. Trujillo is one of 54 teachers selected from all of the junior high schools in the United States for this national recognition.

The Edyth May Sliffe Award program is designed to recognize and reward outstanding teachers for their efforts in the development of the mathematical talents of middle and junior high students. The award is given to the top five schools in each of ten regions, based on the total performance of the three top scoring students of a school over the past three years. The consistent excellent effort of the students at Northshore Junior High has placed it in that group.
