LFP Garden Club celebrates 75 years

The community is invited to help Lake Forest Park Garden Club celebrate its 75th birthday on Nov. 19 and 20 at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park Mall.

Activities will include noted gardening speakers and a display of floral designs depicting "The Decades of Floral Arranging." On Friday, Ed Hume, gardening expert and author, will speak from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on "What's New For the Year 2000." Patti McDougal will present a design program, "Gifts of Nature," from 2 to 4 p.m. She will demonstrate floral designs with found materials.

On Saturday, laugh and learn with Ciscoe Morris, who will speak from 11 a.m. to noon on "New Ideas in Gardening." A floral design program presented by garden club members is planned, and from noon to 2 p.m., Barbo the Clown (a.k.a. club member Barbara Peterson) will talk to children.

For information about joining the club or visiting a meeting, call Jane Sheely at (206) 522-3977.
