DOL issues warning

With the passage of I-695, many customers of the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) have placed "stop payments" on checks written for vehicle registrations. Under state law, DOL is required to pursue collections of these funds. Stop payments checks are treated as dishonored checks, subject to handling fees and possible referral to a collection agency.

Northshore parks will be affected by revised County budget

The King County Council's Environmental Quality Budget Panel has recommended two changes to the County Executive's proposed 2000 budget that will affect two parks in the Northshore area. The panel recommended transferring operation of the swimming pool at St. Edward's State Park to the state, with some county funding set aside for transition costs. They also recommended developing the Daniels Creek Park near Woodinville.
