New name for Multi-Service Centers

A new name and logo for the Multi-Service Centers of North and East King County (MSC) was announced at last week's annual Reaching Out Luncheon.

As of Jan. 3, 2000, the MSC will be known as Hopelink. For three decades, the agency has served the homeless and low-income families, seniors, and disabled residents of the Eastside by providing five foodbanks, an emergency shelter, transitional housing, emergency financial assistance, transportation and a growing family development program.

The name-change will coincide with the final phase of MSC's $9.5 million Raise the Roof capital campaign to build three new facilities: a family development center and food bank, 20 new units of transitional housing, and the Adelle Maxwell Child Care Center.
