Holiday Happenings

   Columbia Winery will hold its annual Lighting of the Manor on Sunday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors may participate in wine tasting, samplings of fine cheese, marinades, chocolates, and cider. Santa Claus will be on hand for photos, and carolers will perform favorite holiday tunes. The Winery is located at 14030 NE 145th in Woodinville.

   The Woodinville Alliance Church will present The Best Gift of All, Friday, Dec. 3 (dinner theatre), and Saturday, Dec. 4 (dessert theatre). Both events are at 7 p.m. Special guests will be Jim and Joanne Hammerly. The variety show will feature music, drama, humor, and a video presentation.    Everyone is welcome to listen and sing favorite Christmas carols every Wednesday in December before Christmas from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodinville Community United Methodist Church. Bring a friend and lunch. Visitors may come and go as needed.

   The City of Bothell will hold its annual tree lighting ceremony and the arrival of Santa Claus on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 5 p.m. at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9919 NE 180th, Bothell. Featured will be a community songfest, refreshments, and entertainment. Following the arrival of Santa, parents are encouraged to bring cameras and take pictures of their children with the jolly old elf at FrameWright Gallery, 102nd and Main. Call (425) 486-7430.

   Santa will sit in an authentic 1850 hand-crafted Elmwood sleigh from Germany at Country Village. Families, pets, and children may have their photos taken with Santa from Nov. 27 through Dec. 23. Call for hours. Country Village is located at 23714 Bothell-Everett Hwy.

   The Evergreen Hospital annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair, featuring craft items designed by Evergreen employees, is planned for Dec. 2 and 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Medical Center Galleria. Raffle tickets are available for 3 for $1. All proceeds from the table fees and raffle benefit Evergreen Hospice. Free parking in the hospital garage.

   Washington Cathedral (12300 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. NE) will present This Christmas Time, a concert by vocalist Tony Easterly, on Sunday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. All concert proceeds will benefit the children of Guatemala City Dump Project. Suggested donations are $25 for preferential seating and $10 for general seating. Concert tickets are available by calling (425) 869-5433.

   To get your family in the holiday spirit, visit Classic Nursery's 16th annual Holiday Open House, Nov. 26, 27, Dec. 4, 5, 11, and 12 from noon to 4 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 5, pony rides will be available from noon to 3:30 p.m. Visitors can join Santa for cocoa and cookies as he tells stories for the whole family. Alpacas, sheep, goats, bunnies, a turkey, a goose, and a calf from Udderly Goats will be on hand for viewing and petting.
